This week we are reading Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats.
Some of our activities are being continued from last week as we have missed school due to the snow.
Activities:
Math - Counting Footprints in the snow!
Science - Drying and Reconstituting Clay - Students will describe what the clay feels like when both wet and dry.
ABC Sound Sorting
Making Cloud pictures
ABC Go Fish
Raindrop Sounds - as part of our sound exploration, students will write the sound they heard the water make when it hit a variety of objects.
Choice Time:
Dress Up - Since our friends practice getting their winter attire on each time we play outside, we have offered our friends a variety of other materials to use. We have construction hats, skateboarder helmelts, warrior attire, and a few dresses. We will be adding to this collection this week with prom dresses from the 90s. If you have any dress up clothes that you would like to share please feel free to send them in. Please include your child's name so that we may return them to you after we have used them.
Cloud Painting - Students will use stencils to cover part of their paper, then using watered down paint in squirt bottles, they will spray all over their paper. This leaves an outline of their stencil or cloud.
Game: - Students will play an ice cream game, where they need to collect an ice cream scoop of each flavor.
Blocks - Large lego blocks
Easel - Primary colors to paint with
Manipulatives/Science - Lacing animals into their habitats.
